Tozoztontli Tarot Spread~~~The Xiuhpohualli (year count) is divided into 18 metztli/veintena or a period of 20 days. The current 20-day period is called,  Tozoztontli, "The Perforation/Small Perforation/Little Vigil". This time marks the end of the dry season and venerates Tlaloc "one that lies on land" or "he who is made of earth", Chalchihutlicue "jade her skirt", Coatlicue "snakes her skirt" and Centeotl "dried maize diety."Tlaloc is the Lord of Rain, celestial waters, lightning flashes, hail, and patron of land workers. He is the Day Lord of Mazatl (Deer) Tonalli, the protector of the Seventh Trecena, Ce Quiauitl (one rain) and the Ninth of the Yoaltecutin (Night Lords). He presided over the Third Sun (Nauhquiahuitl) and dwells on the fourth level of the upper worlds, Tlalocan, "Tlaloc place."He is seen with round eyes which have a "google" effect created by two intertwined serpents coming down at the sides of his mouth. Tlaloc is also considered part jaguar and the rumble of the thunder is considered his roar.
